Writing Coach
I firmly believe in and follow the Amherst Writers and Artists (AWA) method, which rests on five core principles:
• Everyone has a strong, unique voice.
• Everyone is born with creative genius.
• Writing as an art form belongs to all people, regardless of economic class or educational level.
• The teaching of craft can be done without damage to a writer’s original voice or artistic self-esteem.
• A writer is someone who writes.
Having taught creative writing and creative nonfiction in the California community college system for over a decade, I have had the joy of putting these principles into practice and witnessing their often breathtaking results.
Do you want to write a novel? A memoir? A family history? A short story? A book of short stories? A poem or a chapbook of poems? A screenplay or script? Do you want to process a trauma through writing? I can help.
